Run the Bangor Half Marathon Virtually!
With the London Marathon having to reschedule their event to October 4th due to the CONVID – 19 outbreak. Run Wales is offering participants to run the Bangor Half Marathon 13.1 mile distance virtually, in order to not miss out on the 4 Castle Series medals. We understand many of our participants are now having to choose to run the London Marathon or the Bangor Half Marathon. For anyone who chooses to participate at the London Marathon but would still like to complete all 4 Castle Series events in 2020, here’s how:
During the month of October, run a stand alone virtual Half Marathon in your own time. Share with us a screenshot of your GPS watch details or Strava account post run, and we will post out your finishers T-Shirt and Medal to honour your achievement!
(There will be a nominal £3.00 charge to cover the post and packaging of these items.)
We hope this offers a solution to all our participants in the dilemma they are currently facing in choosing between events.
Please note, in order to run virtually, you must have already entered the 2020 Bangor Half Marathon.

St David’s Hospice is a local charity, caring for local people, delivering specialist care to adult patients with advanced illnesses or those in need of end of life care and their families.
Every year, this touches the lives of over 1000 people within our local communities from across the counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
St David’s Hospice delivers specialist care free of charge at our Inpatient Unit in Llandudno, Therapy Centres in Bangor and Llandudno, as well as in the comfort of patient’s own homes via our Hospice at Home and Outreach services.
Here for you in your local community – 24 hours, 365 days the year, providing a clinical service alongside emotional, physical and spiritual support.
It costs over £4million each year to deliver the services – that’s over £9,000 a day. The majority of this comes from community fundraising. None of these costs are passed to the patients, their families or carers, because St David’s Hospice care is free to all.
