Arrival in Conwy
Conwy is a small town, and on large events like this it can become very congested, so please try to arrive and park in Conwy before 8.45am as we will be shutting the roads for the event and you may have to take a diversion which could delay you getting to the start line.
Please be patient and factor in about an additional 20mins to your journey.
(please bring some change for the parking machines)
There are two main car parks 1 & 2, Please follow signs, marshals will be on hand to help .
If travelling from Chester direction, use J18 on the A55.

If travelling from Holyhead direction, use J17 on the A55.

If you are local, please try and park in the surrounding areas, Deganwy, Llandudno Junction.
Race Start Times
Fun Run 9:15am / Half Marathon 10:00am
The fun run registration is on the quayside open from 8am.
£5 entry on the day to include a t-shirt and medal.

Is along the Quayside and will be lined with barriers and flags
Race HQ / Enquiries open at 8am
Race HQ is in St Mary’s church hall (Rose Hill Street ), just about 200 mtrs from the start and next door to the Bridge pub, the fun run is on the quayside.
If you have received your number and chip in the post, there is no need to register on the day, just turn up and run.
Toilets / Changing
Porta loos & public toilets will be near the start/finish located by the Liverpool Arms pub on the quayside, there are also mens urinals situated behind the portaloos, Guys make sure your in the right queue. There will also be porta loos on route at approx. mile 3.5 by the water station
Llandudno Junction Leisure centre (Sat Nav LL31 9XY) will have changing and shower facilities for RunWales runners only (charges apply £2.00), Please go to Reception with your race number (Strictly NO Parking at Leisure Centre during Event)
Baggage – Open from 8:00am on the quayside
A Baggage tag will be sent with your race pack, please make sure your race number is on the tag and attached to your bag before handing your bag over.
Every effort will be made to securely store your baggage, however, please DO NOT leave any valuables, cash. Jewellery etc in your bag as we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage. Items not in a bag maybe refused or left at your own risk.

There will be a water station (Brecon Carreg Water 300ml bottles) at approx 3 1/2 miles, 7 miles, 9 miles and at the Finish
First Aid cover will be provided by a professional medical team. First Aid station will be located at the start and finish and on course. In order to help our medical team, help you it is critical you fill out the medical history information on the back of your race number. If you are injured or unwell to carry on at any stage please notify the nearest marshal who will call for First Aid assistance. It will be the discretion of the medical team if they transport you back to the finish.
If you retire from the race, it’s really important that you let the nearest Marshal to you know and give them your race number. This is so we can account for you at the end of the race. It is your responsibility to arrange transport back to the start.

Headphones are not allowed during this race in accordance with UK Athletics rules as the course does not have a full road closure with the exception of bone-conducting headphones.

Please be mindful and respect local residents and DO NOT throw your bottles, energy gels in gardens/over walls etc. Where possible please leave your litter at the nearest water station or with the nearest marshal where possible when a bin is not available. Runners will now be disqualified and taken off the results if seen discarding their rubbish outside of a water stop or not with a marshal.
PLASTIC AND ITS USE IS AN INCREASING PROBLEM
Cut off times
Time limit – We ask runners to be able to keep a pace of 12- 15min mile and complete a half marathon in 3-3:30hours. If you are running slower than this pace, you will still be able to finish, however, when directed to do so you will need to run on pavements and run as a pedestrian obeying all signals and the highway code. We cannot guarantee volunteer marshals will continue to be on course and therefore it is your responsibility to look at the route and follow the course signs.
The whole route will be closed to traffic, however, breaches are sometimes made by angry motorists, so please be vigilant at all times and always listen to the marshals instructions.
When crossing a road please listen to marshal instructions on crossing points and keep on the Left at all times unless instructed different.
Please be aware that we must maintain access to residents and emergency vehicles, it is your responsibility to stop for a car approaching a junction.
06:30am – 15:00pm Conwy Quayside
09:00am – 10:30am, Conwy Road Conwy (the Cob) and will re open as a one way out of Conwy from 10.30am
06:30am – 3pm A546 from the Weekly news roundabout through to Deganwy, Maesdu Ave, Bryniau Road, Great Ormes Rd, Abbey Rd in the direction of Llandudno, The A546 from Llandudno will be unaffected, but delays are expected. Please use an alternative route where possible
06:30am-2pm, Church Walks
Where there are road closures, they will re-open to vehicular traffic on a rolling basis at an approximate pace of 15min mile.
