A breathtaking North Wales challenge through scenic mixed terrain, capped by a grueling mile-11 vertical wall known as the "Sting in the Tail."

Iconic series of Half Marathons

I love this series, I'm doing it for the second year in a row. Sorry for the nightmare that organizing the Bangor City Half has been and thank you for reorganizing it. Also sorry for the crap you had to deal with over medals at Llandundo (I know it's not part of the series but wanted to say it anyway).

On 4 castles please keep running it exactly as is, it's brilliant.

The best running series in the UK

I’ve completed the 4 Castle series 3 times and this year will be my fourth. The lady’s at the start of the event are absolutely fantastic. The start line of the Snowdonia half marathon requires sorting as there are a lot of potholes, which I hurt my ankle on and the area could do with some TLC. I wish there was proper goodie bags and something put on at the end of the series to celebrate completing the event. I would also like to see more castles added to the series. I would recommend this event to everyone, and all staff involved in making the series the best in the UK are amazing and should be celebrated.

Absolutely loved it. It was tough but worth it for the scenery

Beautiful but tough race.

Returning to racing after serious illness I was one of the last runners, and the support from marshals (and locals) was so friendly and encouraging, I never felt like I was a bother for being slow. The only thing that could have been better was more signage, just to confirm you're still on the right track. I was running completely on my own, no-one in sight, so not seeing signs for long stretches made me worry I'd missed a turning.

I’m glad this was the first of the four castle series as it was the toughest Half Marathon I’ve ever done & the most scenic. Definitely not a race for beginners

Wasn’t keen on the colour of the finishers t-shirt or hoodie, I didn’t buy a hoodie for this reason.

An amazing day to run around Llanrwst and Eryri.

As always, Run Wales / Rhedeg Cymru were as well organised as ever. From registration to marshals, water stations, and the finish area, everything ran smoothly and professionally. Roedd y trefniadaeth yn wych o’r dechrau i’r diwedd.

Of course, anyone who has tackled the Snowdonia Half Marathon knows that the hills were, well, brutal.

But every climb was rewarded with breathtaking views across Eryri, making the effort completely worthwhile.

Will definitely be back a 2nd time!

Urinals for males behind portaloos are a brilliant idea, but maybe some more portaloos to avoid the long queue & waiting time before the start! Thanks for a brilliant race!

Definitely not for beginners!! Those hills are hard. Mile 11 is just unfair

This was a great start to the four castle series. Hopefully it gets easier from this point as frankly that was one of the hardest runs I’ve done.

Well worth the effort for the scenery, it’s a stunning part of the world.

The event itself was well organised, no issues parking, no issues registering and no issues with the start or finish. No complaints from me. Mind you, my legs are very unhappy with the hills you gave us!
