COVID- 19 UPDATE – 1st June 2020
This is the message that we would never have wished to write but sadly, as a consequence of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and uncertainty around sporting events at this time we have to postpone this years North Wales Half Marathon to 2021. Due to the nature of this event, the window in which the event can be held safely around the tide times we are unable to find a new date for 2020. Every runner who has entered to date will be automatically entered into the 2021 addition, once the tide times have been announced for 2021 we will then confirm the date as per usual.
We understand this years event was apart of the 2020 Coastal Series and for you who are still wanting to claim your medal in order to complete the set, this can be done virtually. As medals and many other items like licences and insurance, timing chips all are ordered and paid for months in advance we have all the 500 medals as originally planned here with us. Full details on how to complete you run virtually and claim you medal will be shared before July. You will then have the opportunity to complete the event in the original month as planned.
Again, we are really saddened and sorry to have to share this news, but with our friends, family, staff, volunteers and participants all in mind we feel this is the best and safest option for everyone involved. We hope you can understand the situation we are currently facing and continue to support all our events in the future once safe to do so!
Stay safe, healthy and we hope to see you back on our start lines soon.
COVID- 19 UPDATE – 19th May
COVID- 19 UPDATE – 29th April
Welsh Athletics along with the Home Countries & UKA have continued to review the situation relating to COVID-19 on a daily basis, and today the decision has been announced to extend the suspension of competition throughout the UK until the end of June.
COVID- 19 UPDATE – 13th April
At this moment in time, the North Wales Half Marathon is still going ahead as planned. However, please note we can’t guarantee this will not change over the coming months. We will work continuously to stage this event in line with the Government & Athletic bodies advise/guidance. If the COVID-19 pandemic continues to develop over the coming months and we have to postpone this event, we will be working on hosting on a later date in 2020.
Thanks for your understanding, support and patience in these difficult times.
